    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior.

    CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person’s perception of events – rather than the events themselves – that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.

    Grief & Bereavement Counseling

    Bereavement and grief aren’t light-hearted topics. Bereavement refers to the process of recovering from the death of a loved one, and grief is a reaction for any form of loss. Both encompass a wide range of emotions such as fear, anger and deep, deep sadness.

    The process of adapting to a loss can dramatically change from person to person, depending on his or her background, beliefs, relationship to the person who’s passed, and other factors.

    LPC-A Supervision

    Healing Paths Online Counseling Services offers Supervision to Licensed Professional Counselor Associates. Supervision will be once a week by Google meet.  Applicants must send resume and evidence of the license issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. After I received the documents, I will interview the applicant to determine if LPC-A is a goof fit for my practice.

    PTSD

    Have you experienced a traumatic event? Are you suffering from lingering fear and anxiety? Do you feel like you no longer have any control over how you think, feel, and behave?

    Posttraumatic stress disorder – also known as PTSD – is a mental health challenge that may occur in individuals who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a terrorist act, an act of war, a serious accident, rape, or any other violent personal assault.

    Telehealth

    Do you need support, but can’t make it to an in-person appointment? Are you a busy stay-at-home or working parent, and don’t have the time to drive across town for an appointment?

    Do you live in a more rural area, or maybe you prefer to just do things Virtually?

    If so, I can help you through virtual therapy, or telehealth.

    Therapy for Depression

    I want you to know that you are not alone and there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.

    I understand the social stigmas that come with label of being depressed and, thus, aim to help clients sort out their environmental, biological, and circumstantial factors while offering support and care through a very dark time in their lives.

    Christian Counseling

    Christian Counseling is a type of counseling that integrates evidence-based treatments, traditional strategies (ex. CBT) with the Christian faith by incorporating theological concepts to the therapy, Bible reading, and prayer.
